Teaching Assistant 

(Academic Support & Classroom Delivery)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the lead tutor in delivering structured lessons

  • Provide targeted assistance to students during tasks and guided practice

  • Reinforce expectations around behaviour, focus and academic discipline

  • Assist in preparing lesson materials and maintaining organised learning environments

  • Observe and report on student engagement and progress where appropriate

 

Experience & Qualities

  • Experience working with primary or lower secondary students (Year 4–7 preferred)

  • Strong academic grounding in English and/or Mathematics

  • Clear communication and calm, structured presence

  • Ability to support high expectations without over-directing students

  • Professional, reliable and aligned with a high-standard academic environment

Head of Admissions & Operations, supporting the Academy’s growth, structure and delivery.

Teaching Assistant

A forthcoming opportunity will be available for a

Teaching Assistant, supporting lesson delivery, student engagement and academic continuity across the Academy.

This role is integral to maintaining the Academy’s standards of structure, pace and student focus within sessions.

Initial conversations will be conducted with a small number of selected candidates.

Submissions should include a CV and a concise cover letter outlining relevant experience. A minimum of three years’ experience is required.

Current Focus

We are interested in individuals with experience in:

Private Tuition and/or Classroom Teaching

Key Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ successful classroom teaching experience

  • Secure knowledge of the UK National Curriculum in:
    ○ Primary (Years 4–6) and/or
    ○ Secondary (Years 7–11)

  • Strong subject expertise in English and/or Mathematics

  • Specialist capability in teaching Shakespeare and advanced English Literature at a high level (Years 8 and Year 11)

  • Experience working within high-expectation academic settings

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • The ability to deliver structured, purposeful and engaging lessons

  • A flexible and strategic approach to teaching, avoiding rigid or one-size-fits-all methods

  • High levels of organisation, preparation and academic planning

Our Standards

Lessons are observed termly at a pre-agreed date and time, with structured feedback provided to ensure consistently high teaching and learning standards.

Private Tutor Roles

Private Tutor (Primary and/or Secondary)

A forthcoming opportunity will be available for

Private Tutors with a minimum of 3 years’ successful classroom teaching experience and a secure understanding of the UK National Curriculum in English and/or Mathematics.
