Asked Questions
Clear guidance on admissions, programmes and academic expectations at LTRW Tuition Academy.

Before You Apply
Families may begin with an enquiry or attend an Introductory Parent Meeting to gain a clear understanding of the Academy’s approach and expectations.
Admissions & Entry
How do I apply for a place?
All families begin with an enquiry or consultation. Students are then invited to attend a formal assessment to determine suitability and placement.
Is LTRW open to all students?
No. LTRW operates a selective admissions model. Students are enrolled where there is clear alignment with the Academy’s structured academic expectations.
Is admission guaranteed after assessment?
No. Admission is not guaranteed. Places are limited, and standards are carefully upheld to preserve the quality of the learning environment.
What is the assessment process?
Students attend a formal written assessment in English and/or Mathematics. This allows us to evaluate understanding, reasoning ability and readiness for structured learning.
What is the assessment fee?
The assessment fee is £60. This is non-refundable and secures your child’s place for a formal assessment sitting.
Is LTRW suitable for every child?
LTRW Tuition Academy is designed for students who are able to engage with a structured, disciplined and academically focused approach to learning.
At present, the Academy is not a specialist SEN provision. Families whose children require more tailored or therapeutic support may benefit from settings specifically designed to meet those needs.
Where helpful, we are always happy to guide families towards appropriate next steps.
How selective is the admissions process?
LTRW operates a considered admissions process to ensure each student is well matched to the Academy’s structured approach. Placement is offered where there is clear alignment in readiness, attitude and academic potential.
How quickly can a student begin after assessment?
Where a place is offered, entry is typically aligned with the next available programme start or appropriate intake point, ensuring continuity and a well-planned start to the student’s learning journey.

How are your programmes different from standard tuition?
LTRW Tuition Academy delivers structured academic programmes rather than ad-hoc tutoring. Each programme follows a carefully sequenced curriculum designed to build understanding progressively, develop thinking habits and support long-term academic growth. Lessons are not centred on completing worksheets, but on ensuring clarity, precision and confident application of knowledge.
How is learning structured across each programme?
Learning is delivered through a clearly defined process, guided by the RYAN Learning Framework™. Admissions & Academic Pathways
Do you offer preparation for 11+ and other entrance examinations?
No. LTRW does not currently offer dedicated preparation for 11+ or similar entrance examinations.
Our academic approach is centred on depth, clarity, and long-term development rather than short-term exam preparation. We continue to review this area carefully and would only introduce such provision if it aligns fully with the Academy’s standards and approach.
Do you accept students in Year 9 and Year 10?
LTRW does not typically accept new students into Year 9 or Year 10.
We recognise that this stage of education is both academically and personally significant. Our provision is intentionally focused on structured academic development, and we are mindful that students entering at this point often require broader support beyond our scope.
We do, however, work with Year 11 students, who are generally more established in their academic direction.
Do you teach GCSE students?
Yes. LTRW provides focused academic support for students in Year 11, particularly in English Language and English Literature.
Our approach at this stage is structured, disciplined, and aligned with examination expectations, while maintaining the Academy’s emphasis on clarity and depth.
Do students continue with LTRW beyond Year 8?
Yes. Students who join LTRW in the earlier years often continue with us through to GCSE.
These students develop a strong understanding of our expectations and academic method, allowing for continuity and steady progression through Years 9 to 11.
What subjects do you teach at GCSE level?
At present, our GCSE provision is focused on English Language and English Literature. This allows us to maintain a high level of subject expertise and ensure that teaching remains consistent with the Academy’s standards.
Can students join LTRW for a short period before exams?
LTRW is not designed as a short-term or intensive revision provider. We prioritise sustained academic development over time. In certain circumstances, we may consider a later entry, but only where it is appropriate and where a student can meaningfully engage with our approach.
How do you decide if LTRW is the right fit for a student?
We take a considered approach to admissions, focusing on alignment rather than volume. We look for students who will benefit from a structured, disciplined, and calm learning environment, and families who value consistency and long-term academic development.
Progression, Continuity & Parent Communication
Will my child remain with the same approach as they progress through the Academy?
Yes. Continuity is central to the LTRW model.
Students progress through a consistent academic framework, guided by the RYAN Learning Framework™, which underpins our approach to structured teaching and long-term academic development.
This enables students to build confidence, deepen understanding, and refine their skills over time.
How do you support students as they move into examination years?
As students approach Year 11, teaching becomes increasingly focused on examination expectations while maintaining the Academy’s core principles. This includes structured writing, clarity of thought, and disciplined practice.
How will I be kept informed about my child’s progress?
LTRW maintains clear and considered communication with parents throughout the academic year.
Progress is shared through structured end-of-term reports, providing a detailed overview of your child’s development, areas of strength, and next steps.
In addition, parents are invited to attend scheduled parents’ evenings - either in person or via a digital meeting - where progress can be discussed in more depth. Appointments can also be arranged where appropriate to ensure meaningful and focused communication.
Whom should I contact if I have a question or concern?
All parent enquiries are managed professionally to ensure clarity and consistency. You will be directed to the appropriate point of contact, and all communication is handled with care and discretion.
How are phone and general enquiries handled?
LTRW works with a dedicated professional service to manage incoming calls and enquiries. This ensures that all communication is handled promptly, respectfully, and in line with the Academy’s standards.
Will my child receive individual attention within group sessions?
Yes. While teaching takes place in small academic groups, careful attention is given to each student’s progress. Group sizes are intentionally limited to maintain focus, structure, and individual awareness.
How does LTRW maintain its standards as it grows?
Growth at LTRW is deliberate and measured. We expand only where we can maintain full alignment with our principles - ensuring that standards, safeguarding, and the quality of teaching remain consistent at every stage.
